2013 Review: Altitude Off Road Highlander

Camper Trailer Australia — 17 October 2013

LAYOUT

Roughing it can hard when you’re sharing space with the whole family, but this unit is built with families in mind. It not only offers an attractive package price, but a hot water service, separate kids room, a shower, kitchen, toilet, a shaded annexe and lots of storage space. This strong and sturdy trailer is constructed with a 100x50x4mm RHS drawbar, a 50x50x2.5mm chassis, an Australian Duragal steel box and is finished in simple hammertone enamel after double priming on all welded sections. The underneath sports solid AL-KO eight-leaf greasable springs with AL-KO 10in electric brakes on a 45x45mm solid axle.

The interior sports a good solid canvas, a solid PVC floor, queen size inner-spring mattress, inner and outer awnings, and even LED lighting including handy reading lights on either side of the bed. Beneath the bed is a dust-proof storage unit, a safe for all your valuables and an electrical system neatly tucked inside.

CAMPER TRAILER AUSTRALIA VERDICT

This sensible and accommodating camper is feature packed and can cope with just about anything. A quick chat with this trailer’s founder, Brian Johnston, reveals a proud owner keen on providing a reliable product that can be taken anywhere in Australia and will come back safe and sound.

The unit’s list of standard equipment normally offered at $27,990 is currently reduced to $24,990. Now that’s quality value. That includes the standard awning, ensuite, storage box on the drawbar, water tanks, hot water system, spare wheel, gas bottles, jerry cans and more.

With the new Altitude Off Road Highlander, you’ll be set with excellent features, a host of accessories and a huge liveable space for extended touring or vacationing at your desired destination.
