Cub Campers Release All-Aussie Drifter II

Camper Staff — 20 February 2020
Cub Campers have launched the Drifter II, a new Australian-made double-fold, at the Newcastle Caravan and Camping Show.

The Cub Drifter has been a staple of the Aussie camping fleet for a while now. From when it first hit our roads in the 70s, through to when production ceased in the dawn of Y2K, and up to the modern day as owners continue using their old products, the Drifter has remained a mainstay.

Building on what made the earlier Drifter a success, and drawing inspiration from the market’s thirst for double-folds, Cub have now launched the Drifter II, which they say is the only Australian-made double-fold camper trailer on the market. It’ll keep those Australian elements Cub are fond of, like Bluescope Steel and Wax Converters canvas.

Cub Campers say other stand-outs include the kitchen, the extra-long 1,400mm pantry drawer, a luggage rack, and the quick set-up — said to take just three minutes and be achievable by just one person. The six-berth offers three double beds, one of these in a convertible dinette. Camper will be reviewing a Cub Drifter II soon and reporting back in the magazine.
